What is the Bridge Scholars Program?

The Bridge Scholars Program is a four-year program established to assist American minority students who otherwise would be unable to afford a Christian higher education.

42 Students Helped To Date

Currently at BJU

Currently, just 9% of our student body is from the American minority population. We want to see this percentage grow at BJU to more accurately reflect the college population.

Help Meet a Need

Many minority students face insurmountable odds and without extra help, they will not be able to afford attending college. We realize these talented and hard-working students will receive help from somewhere—and we want it to be from BJU.

Our Vision

As part of this program, 42 American minority students have joined the BJU student body. We want to continue to see the number of Bridge Scholars on campus grow.

Why did we start the Bridge Scholars Program?

Many talented and God-loving minority students across the U.S. desire a BJU education—however, segments of these students face insurmountable odds and without extra help, they will not be able to afford attending college. We realize these talented and hard-working students will receive help from somewhere—and we want it to be from BJU.

These students now have an opportunity for additional funding through the Bridge Scholars Program. As part of this program, 31 American minority students joined the BJU student body during its inaugural year. This fall semester brought 15 new students with 27 Bridge Scholar students returning, totaling 42--an increase of 40%! Our vision is that we would continue to see the number of Bridge Scholars on campus grow through funds raised for student scholarships.

Help us meet the needs of minority students.
