Choux-Choux Baby

Kerry Kendall graduated from BJU in 1996 with a B.A. in French and in 1999 with an M.Ed. in Mathematics Secondary Education.  All in God’s perfect timing, in 2014 that French degree finally came back into play as Kerry sold her house and most of her possessions and moved to Paris to attend Le Cordon Bleu. Kerry began her side business, Choux-Choux Baby (“choux” is a type of French pastry used for such things as eclairs and sounds like “shoe”), in the spring of 2017 by selling French pastries at local farmer’s markets in addition to filling orders for weddings, showers, birthdays, etc. Her trademark item has become the French macaron—it’s appeal to both the eye and the palate is increasing its popularity in this region where it has been relatively unknown.

Popped Culture

Popped Culture is a small, local business operated by two public school teachers-Scott and Kate Buhr, both 2011 BJU graduates. They make and sell delicious caramel popcorn at local markets and events around the Upstate. Their signature flavor, Upcountry Caramel, has a crispy texture and salted caramel flavor that will have you scraping the bottom of the bag for the last kernel. Enjoy this Southern Indulgence.

We are so excited to have our reunion year gift designed by Olivia Hollis Creative. Meet Olivia:

G'day! I’m Olivia, an Aussie currently living in Michigan! I graduated with my BFA in Graphic Design from BJU in 2017, and since then have been building my personal brand and staying busy being my own boss! If you and I met on the street, I would struggle to describe what I do. However, I suppose every facet of my business would fit into this statement - I am an artist. I am a designer, a letterer, an illustrator, and a potter. I specialize in branding for churches. I create websites. I sculpt ugly face mugs. I sell hand-lettered prints. And I love it all!  Recently, most of my time has been spent establishing my Etsy shop (where I sell handmade face mugs!) and branding our new church (where my husband and I currently work on staff.) But check back with me again in a few months! I will, undoubtedly, be chasing a new endeavor!
